Quality Systems Manager role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the Integrated management system (IMS) to meet regulatory, industry, and company standards. The Quality Systems Manager ensures compliance with quality, food safety and OHSE protocols, conducts audits, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and addresses any gaps or non-compliance. Their goal is to guarantee that products consistently meet customer and legal requirements while driving efficiency and minimizing defects or errors in production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. IMS Oversight – Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of HACCP, FSSC, Health, Safety, and Environmental systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Auditing & Compliance – Conduct internal and external audits, address non-conformities, and oversee corrective actions.
  3. Regulatory Compliance – Stay updated on food safety regulations, ensure compliance with labelling and packaging laws, and coordinate inspections with regulatory bodies.
  4. Supplier Quality Management – Maintain supplier relationships, implement quality assurance programs, and conduct supplier audits.
  5. Continuous Improvement – Analyse quality data, drive process efficiency, and implement corrective/preventive actions to enhance product quality and cost-effectiveness.
  6. Training & Development – Provide quality assurance training, promote a culture of accountability, and implement employee training programs.
  7. Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate quality records, prepare performance reports, and present updates to senior management.
  8. People Management – Lead, motivate, and develop the quality team, monitor performance, and ensure effective resource utilization.
  9. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) – Ensure compliance with safety policies, monitor workplace health and safety, and participate in hazard inspections and incident resolution.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Certifications – HACCP, FSSC, Environmental, OHSE certifications are desirable.
  • Experience – 7-10 years in quality assurance, with leadership experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Skills – Expertise in quality management systems, auditing, problem-solving, leadership, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and project management.
