About the Role

As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets within the Lae region. This includes leading a team of sales representatives and merchandisers, maintaining strong relationships with key customers, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies and promotions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Administration

  • Ensure accurate and reliable sales data is collected from the field
  • Prepare and submit timely sales and competitor reports
  • Monitor market pricing and competitor performance

Operations

  • Implement sales promotions as scheduled
  • Manage company resources such as vehicles and freezers, ensuring they are well maintained
  • Provide updates on repair and maintenance issues to management

Financial Management

  • Monitor and control promotion costs to remain within budget
  • Track usage of promotional materials and product samples
  • Ensure all campaign resources are used as per plan

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities within the assigned area
  • Expand customer base and grow market share

Customer & Team Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
  • Work closely with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure timely deliveries
  • Lead, train, and motivate your team to achieve performance targets

Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–4 years in a similar sales role
  • Relevant business skills accreditation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • High attention to detail and focus on timely delivery
  • Ability to work across different cultural settings
  • Self-motivated with strong relationship-building capabilities
