The Paradise Company Team Organises Fun Day for Haus Pikinini Orphanage in Wau, Buluolo.

Haus Pikinini Orphanage has been in operation for only three years and is a safe haven for 26 orphaned children. It is run by Donna Harvey-Hall or as everyone calls her “Mama Donna”. Mama Donna is originally from Australia but has been living in PNG for 73 years and in Wau for almost 40 of those years. She knows the history, the culture and the language all too well. She is very passionate about empowering the locals and one of the main way in which she does so is by looking after and raising the orphans which she is doing to make her retirement more worthwhile after raising a large family of her own, mostly as a single mother.

On the 18th of February, 2020, nine (9) staff members from Laga Industries Limited and Paradise Foods Limited embarked on a six (6) hour drive from Lae to visit Haus Pikinini in Wau, Bulolo District in the Morobe Province.

Paradise Foods Limited Group CEO, James Rice first met Mama Donna while on one of his dirt bike adventures through the Wau area in November of 2019. The story of the Orphanage was a highlight for him at the end of his adventure and why he decided to have the staff return to host a Fun Day for the children. It was a fulfilling day and an amazing experience for the kids as this fun day was a first for many of them.

Paradise Foods Limited prides itself with being active in social responsibilities such as this and looks forward to maintaining the friendship created with the Orphanage and the children. Therefore, we will be doing a monthly donation to the centre to help in its operations.
