The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with industry standards, manage quality system documents, conduct audits and foster a culture of quality.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of Integrated Management Systems (HACCP, FSSC, Environmental, and OHSE) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Plan and conduct internal and external audits to evaluate the effectiveness of the Integrated Management Systems (HACCP, FSSC, OHSE, Pest Contractor Audit, Supplier’s Audit, Trade Audit, etc). Identify non-conformities and drive implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and records. Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and company standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on relevant standards, processes, and best practices. Ensure ongoing compliance and awareness across the organization.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the IMS (OHSE, HACCP, Environment, FSSC, etc) and lead initiatives to enhance processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and customer requirements. Stay updated on changes in quality regulations and standards.
  • Investigate quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related problems.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports to management. Provide insights and recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints related to quality systems. Ensure timely resolution and maintain customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate for this position must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field
  • Certificate in HACCP, FSCC or ISO standards is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality suite and quality management software.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a quality role within the food industry
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing HACCP, FSSC 22000 or other food safety management systems
  • Hands on experience with internal and external auditing process
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance and industry standards (eg: CEPA, NISIT, Dept of Labor, Manufacturing Council, other regulatory bodies)
