We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated Packaging Manager who will be based in (Lae) and reporting to the (Plant Manager).
The Role: (Job responsibilities)
- Participate at management level in guiding successful packaging operations and development of the company.
- Identify industry trends and associated business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on these.
- Plan and implement successful packaging operations systems within broad policy guidelines.
- Interpret the demands of the workplace and the people in it and provide appropriate leadership behavior on the basis of staff maturity in the tasks they are undertaking.
- Build and maintain a collaborative team, focused on providing services that meet the operational needs of the company and products that meet customer’s needs.
- Maintain excellent communication with colleagues, customers, suppliers, team members and Company staff.
- Drive improvements throughout the Department in terms of cost savings through line efficiency improvements, waste reduction, downtime reduction, improved quality, and improved attendance to work.
- Bachelor’s degree in food technology, engineering or equivalent.
- At least five years’ experience and demonstrated success in a similar management level position, in a manufacturing environment.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- A current class 1 driver’s license is required.
