As we celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day theme of DigitALL – innovation and technology for gender equality, Elvina Essai’s story is a testament to the fact that women can excel in any field they choose.

Elvina is a young and brilliant IT Support Officer who is breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes in the tech industry. In 2019, while still studying at the University of Technology, Elvina did her On the Job Training with Paradise Foods. After graduating in 2020, she came back and joined the team as a full-time IT Support Officer, providing support to the PFL Lae, Taraka site.

Elvina has proved that with the right mindset, nothing is impossible. She has thrived in her role and has even played a major role in the build-up of the server room at PFL Taraka. Her hard work and determination has not gone unnoticed, and she has become an inspiration to many young women who aspire to succeed in the tech industry.

Her love for the job and the corporate culture here at Paradise Foods is evident in the way she speaks about it. She feels like she belongs to a family, though work may seem challenging at times, she takes everything head-on and tries to learn as much as she can. She advises anyone with a dream to have the mindset that nothing is impossible. “If they can do it, you can do it better, and with the right drive and passion, you too can achieve your dreams.”
