Meet Nakop Saiyu, who hails from Manus and Morobe Provinces. Nakop is One of Twelve new Food Trade Electricians hired by Paradise Foods Limited and is also the only female within this group.

A recent graduate from The National Polytechnic Institute of Papua New Guinea, her interest to endeavor into the Electrical Engineering field began as a young girl who was curious about how electricity powered the fan. Her passion grew stronger, as her father who is her role model was also an Electrician.

As a proud mother of one, Nakop encourages young girls and women wanting to work in the same field of work as her to fulfill their potential by thinking positive, getting educated and following one’s dreams, whilst not being afraid to work in male dominated fields.

Nakop wants to give back to Paradise Foods by putting her theoretical knowledge into practical experience and contribute towards the growth and expansion of the company.

She and her fellow Food Trade Electricians will be undergoing a 12-week training program before joining Paradise Foods Limited as a full-time employee.
