Donny Feda began his career with Paradise Foods as the Engineering Manager in early January 2021. Donny’s role requires him to manage the Engineering Department whilst ensuring that all lines from the biscuit to chocolate are maintained and attended to when breakdowns occur.

Originally from Morobe Province, Donny grew up in Sandaun Province where he completed his Primary and Secondary education.

After completing his secondary education, he went to Goroka Technical College to take up motor vehicle training in 1994 which led him to his first job in Tabubil as a light vehicle and heavy truck mechanic.

Donny began his working career with Ok Tedi Mining in 1995 and whilst working in Tabubil, he completed an Engineering Diploma from Box Hill Institute in Melbourne, Australia.

Whilst working in the mobile equipment industry, Donny decided to further his knowledge and took on the challenge of studying Undergraduate Degree in manufacturing, mechanical design and AutoCad at the Swinburne University of Technology for 2 years, from 2007- 2008.

After completing his undergraduate Degree in 2009 Donny returned to Ok Tedi and worked as a Mine Closure Planning Engineer, before transitioning to South Pacific Breweries as a Plant Engineer in Port Moresby.

Donny broadened his knowledge on the Manufacturing Industry when he took on the Superintendent role at KK Kingston as he managed maintenance in five manufacturing plants, chemical, plastics, rotational molding, paper and oil factories in 2016.

Donny will be transitioning into the role of Plant Manager for the Paradise Foods factory in July 2021, which will see him become the first Papua New Guinean to hold this role. An achievement that he is grateful for, and one that he does not take lightly.

When asked what it meant to him to be the first national to fill the Plant Manager role for Paradise Foods, Donny humbly acknowledged and thanked the Executive Leadership Team of Paradise Foods, for trusting him to fill this role. He added that he wanted to use his appointment as Plant Manager as an example for the younger generation of Papua New Guineans, to show that nationals are capable of filling positions previously held by expatriates.

Donny looks forward to the challenges ahead in his new role as Plant Manager for Paradise Foods.

Donny thanked outgoing Plant Manager Fenton Parkes for the 39years of service he has given to Paradise Foods and the knowledge he has passed onto him during his time with the company.
