On Saturday, May 11th, Paradise Foods made Mother’s Day extra special by visiting hospital labor wards across the four regions in the country. They distributed over 500 bags of goodies, cartons of water and ice cream to mothers and staff, aiming to uplift spirits on this important day.

Teams from Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, and Kokopo chose different hospitals for their visits. The Port Moresby Team made a visit to Susu Mamas Labour Ward at 3Mile (Port Moresby General Hospital). The Lae Team visited the Angau Memorial Hospital Labour Ward (Lae). Our Mt Hagen Team visited the Mt Hagen General Hospital Labour Ward, and our NGI Team visited the Vunapope General Hospital (Kokopo).

Chaplain Israel Arua expressed the team’s intent, saying, “We are here to bless the mothers, especially on this Mother’s Day, and be part of this special occasion.”

These acts of kindness show the power of community support, particularly for those facing challenges. For the mothers in the wards, it meant a lot to know they were remembered and valued on their special day.

Paradise Foods’ initiative exemplifies corporate social responsibility, demonstrating that giving back to the community is both a duty and a privilege. Their efforts remind us of the impact small acts of kindness can have, especially in difficult times. These visits on Mother’s Day show the importance of empathy and compassion in bringing people together.
