Trade Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Systems Specialist to join and support our Trade Operations Planning team within the Commercial Department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation, integration and continuous optimisation of trade systems and technological platforms. The successful candidate will enable data-driven decision-making, support automation initiatives and work closely with stakeholders to ensure trade operations are efficient, reliable and aligned with business objectives.
The Trade Systems Specialist will report to the Trade Operations Planning Manager and will be based at our Head Office in Port Moresby.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain trade planning software, ERP modules and related applications while ensuring system uptime, security and performance. Develop and maintain data pipelines between trade systems and key business functions including finance, logistics and compliance platforms. Automate reporting and workflows to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency. Build dashboards and analytical tools to support trade planning and decision-making, providing real-time visibility into trade flows, costs and performance metrics. Prepare dashboards and reports for leadership, highlighting key trade insights and supporting scenario analysis for decision-making under uncertainty. Identify opportunities to enhance system capabilities and processes while collaborating with IT teams and external vendors to implement upgrades or new solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in trade marketing or brand management, preferably within FMCG or consumer goods in Papua New Guinea. Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and strategic thinking ability are essential. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across internal teams and stakeholders. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word, is required.
