This position is Port Moresby based and reports to the Sourcing & Procurement Manager.

The Role:
– Maintain shipment files with accurate, relevant, and reliable documentation to meet import regulations and PFL audit requirements.
– Monitor the timely delivery of overseas materials in accordance with procurement instructions and delivery terms.
– Collaborate closely with Planning, RMS, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure all PFL inbound shipments are delivered as needed.
– Report on shipment creation status and provide updates on the shipment tracker for all inbound shipments.
– Achieve below-budget costs for demurrage, storage, container damage, and other avoidable expenses.
– Liaise with freight forwarding and customs clearance agent for clearance and delivery of inbound
movements.
– Prioritize payments to freight forwarding agents and suppliers to avoid delays and penalties (e.g., bond/port storage).
– Actively pursue supplier invoices for re-costing to meet payment terms and delivery schedules.
– Maintain an effective, organized, and reliable filing system for all shipments, both digital and physical copies.
– Ensure effective workflows, timelines, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

About You:
– Bachelor/Diploma in Business or Grade 12 Certificate with 3 Years work experience
– At least 3-5 years’ experience in Purchasing or Shipping desirably at an FMCG company
– Intermediate-Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
– Skilled in integrating multiple data sources to find solutions.
– Capable of working independently and within cross-functional teams.
– Proficient in combining and analyzing various data sources.
– Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
– Ambitious with a strong desire for learning and advancement.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Energetic and proactive in approach.
– Able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
– Effective team player.
