Internship given a glimpse into the real world

Six (6) students from the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) through the CareerTrackers Program have recently completed a 12 week internship program with Paradise Foods Company.

Earlier in 2018 PFL invited five (5) students from Pacific Adventist University (PAU) to do their 3 month practicum with the Supply Chain Department. In 2019 we went into a partnership with Career Trackers, an Australian based organisation that offer assistance to Indigenous students to provide them mentorships, and leadership skills that will enable them to complete their tertiary education.

The internship with Paradise Foods Company enabled the students to gain insightful work experience. The experience they received is something that cannot be taught in a classroom setting.  They had the opportunity to apply acquired knowledge to real work experiences, witnessing first hand day-to-day job duties they can expect to encounter in their chosen field.

Every year we bring in University interns, either 2nd or 3rd year students to do their 3 month practicum with us as we believe this is an important part of their study curriculum.

Paradise Company will continue to participate in program that bring in students to complete internships with the Company as part of building local talent, improving our employment brand and maintaining a healthy talent pipeline.
