Logistics & Warehouse Manager – Lae

Paradise Foods Limited is seeking a highly motivated, organised and experienced Logistics & Warehouse Manager to join our Lae team.

Reporting to the Group Manager – Supply Chain, the Logistics & Warehouse Manager will lead and manage the operations of Finished Goods Warehouses across the Northern and Southern regions. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient warehousing, storage, distribution and delivery operations while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety and operational performance.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented and reliable leader who can manage multiple priorities under pressure, achieve defined delivery performance targets and build strong working relationships with local transport carriers and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operational

  • Work with management to establish and maintain efficient and effective warehousing and logistics systems that meet required standards.
  • Apply sound knowledge of warehousing, storage, distribution and delivery operations while building the capability of warehouse teams.
  • Establish operational priorities to ensure effective and efficient warehouse and logistics activities.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise logistics activities across the business.
  • Ensure product delivery documentation is prepared accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and operational requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery, warehouse and logistics performance.

People & Organisational Capability

  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed in the recruitment, induction, management and separation of employees.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager and Warehouse Coordinators to ensure employment management practices, health and safety and OHS policies are consistently implemented.
  • Lead workforce planning to ensure organisational structures, manpower requirements and capability are aligned with functional objectives and approved headcount and payroll budgets.
  • Ensure warehouse positions are filled through fair and merit-based recruitment processes.
  • Identify staff training, coaching and development needs and ensure appropriate programs are implemented.
  • Build effective, cooperative and productive working relationships across the Warehouse function and wider business.
  • Ensure employees adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct and other workplace policies.
  • Address performance and conduct issues promptly in consultation with the HR Manager and General Manager.

Customer Service

  • Work closely with Regional Managers and Sales Managers to establish processes for analysing customer feedback and implementing appropriate improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and provide quality products and exceptional service to both external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives that deliver value to the business, including audits, maintenance programs and equipment suitability reviews.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A qualification in Business or a related field, with preferred training or qualifications in logistics, warehouse management or inventory control.
  • 10+ years of management experience in a logistics and warehouse environment, preferably within the FMCG industry, with demonstrated success in a similar-level position.
  • Strong experience in time-critical product distribution.
  • Proven experience leading multiple in-house distribution centres.
  • A demonstrated track record of achieving optimum customer delivery performance.
  • Experience managing transport vendors and third-party carriers.
  • A proven ability to improve delivery and safety performance at a national or regional level.
  • Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be based in Lae or willing to relocate.
  • A valid PNG Driver’s Licence.
