R&D Category Lead – Biscuits & Snacks

The Role:
Reporting to the relevant senior leader, you will lead the full product lifecycle across multiple manufacturing sites, from concept development and consumer insights to prototyping, trials and commercialisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead new product development (NPD) end to end, from concept and kitchen samples through to factory trials and full commercial launch
- Translate consumer insights into products that delight and excite customers
- Drive product improvements across taste, texture, quality, shelf life and performance
- Lead cost out and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, root cause analysis and quality improvements
- Manage packaging improvements and technical support for the category
- Own and maintain product specifications and technical documentation
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Sales, Quality and Finance to deliver projects
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science or related discipline
- Proven experience in product development within biscuits, snacks or FMCG
- Strong technical knowledge of formulation, ingredients, sensory science and manufacturing processes
- Experience in cost optimisation, value engineering and commercialisation
- Solid understanding of food safety, regulatory compliance and quality systems
- Strong project management skills across multiple projects
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
