Quality Control Online Technician

Paradise Foods Limited has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented QC Online Technician to join our team at the Taraka Site in Lae. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with company and food safety standards across the production process.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify all mixing and batching formulations prior to start-up.
  • Ensure COP (Cleaning Out of Place), CIP (Cleaning in Place), and sanitation procedures are carried out on machines, tanks, conveyors, and related equipment.
  • Ensure timely line releases are completed prior to production start-up.
  • Monitor and verify CCP (Critical Control Points) checks for ice cream according to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure all QCP and CP checks are effectively monitored and properly recorded.
  • Conduct QC line checks against specifications and promptly address any non-conformances.
  • Record and report waste generated per machine on process control sheets.
  • Participate in safety talks and GMP activities on the production line when required.
  • Ensure all raw and packaging materials are stored on plastic pallets only.
  • Maintain GMP and hygiene standards at all times during production runs.
  • Conduct daily process control, safety, hygiene, and GMP audits on the production line.
  • Collect microbiological samples per shift as required.
  • Conduct water analysis and report any off-spec results to utility personnel.
  • Inspect and release machines for production after shutdowns, maintenance, or overhauls.
  • Ensure all personnel working in production areas follow GMP practices.
  • Record pending tasks and handover notes in the QC Laboratory logbook for incoming shifts.
  • Submit day shift reports and ensure proper communication during shift handovers.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the QC Coordinator or Manager.

Skills Required

  • Basic understanding of the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Industry
  • Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) practices
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and HACCP standards
  • Computer literate
  • Strong analytical and record-keeping skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Applied Science preferred
  • Previous experience with quality systems and procedures, particularly food safety standards such as HACCP, is an advantage
