
We have a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Internal Auditor who will provide assistance to the Internal Audit Manager and lead internal audit engagements in accordance with internal audit practice and guidelines.
This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Internal Audit Manager.
The Role:
- Travels to all locations of the Company according to IA Plan and at request of IA Manager.
- Undertaking internal audits to ensure the company meets its financial, operational and compliance objectives
- Assist with development of IA plan & IA reports
- Assist this includes prioritizing and addressing ad-hoc risks as identified
- Monthly update of control deficiencies on risk assessment report to IA Manager with recommendations for process control improvement
- Report material findings that could adversely impact the Company’s assets and/or reputation.
- Assist in tracking remediation of identified issues through follow-up by ensuring effectiveness of remediation process
- Review processes across the company and work with IA Manager to identify opportunities to improve process controls and operational efficiencies
- Assist with IA planning, field work and reporting for each IA engagements.
- Assist IA Manager with liaising with stakeholders both externally and internally across the company, including PwC or PFL Management
- Assist management with advice and assist IA Manager with risk assessment workshops.
- Supervise junior staff in the absence of IA Manager and other relevant staff including auditees where applicable.
- Attend professional development conference/workshops to build capability with IA best practice standards.
About You:
- Preferably minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field from an accredited university
- At least 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in a similar role in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry and/or in Big 4 would be an advantage
- Experience in managing audit field work, end-to-end project management and cross-functional collaboration with other team members
- Willing to travel up to 70% annually in all internal audit field work
- Willingness to share information and knowledge with IA team members and
- Ability to communicate with different levels of staff and experience with organizing online meeting tools (i.e., MS Teams or Zoom)
- An ethical and honest individual, demonstrates a high level of integrity, trust, objectivity, and confidentiality
- Experience in communicating and presenting to auditees such as business process owners or managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ambitious with a strong desire to learn and progress
- Set priority and can work with Managers and General Staff at all levels.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proven experience in presentation skills and supervising a team or audit assignment
