The Demand Planner will be responsible for forecasting and managing the demand for products across the supply chain, ensuring that the right products are available at the right time in the right quantities. This role involves collaborating with sales, marketing, production, and other teams to create accurate demand forecasts and ensure inventory levels meet customer needs without overstocking or stockouts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting:
- Develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and input from sales and marketing teams.
- Utilize forecasting tools and software to predict product demand at different levels (e.g., SKU, region, or customer).
- Review and adjust forecasts regularly to ensure they align with actual sales patterns and any changes in the market.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and production teams to understand demand drivers (e.g., promotions, seasonality).
- Provide regular updates on forecast performance, stock levels, and any adjustments made to the plan.
- Lead the business in its Demand Review Meetings and Cycle Plan Meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment on demand forecast and achieve forecast accuracy according to best practice.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze sales trends, historical data, and market intelligence to provide insights into demand patterns.
- Produce reports on demand forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work closely with National Sales Manager & Regional Sales Managers to conduct root cause analysis for any demand or supply discrepancies and take corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve demand planning processes to increase forecast accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to implement new tools or technologies to streamline demand planning activities.
- Ensure best practices are followed in the demand planning process and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in demand planning software, SAP or ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across different teams.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Understanding of inventory management, production planning, and supply chain process.
