At Paradise Foods we believe we have what it takes to do amazing things! We currently have a pivotal role in our business for a highly motivated and innovative Payroll Officer to join our Human Resource team at the Company’s Hanta Site, Lae.
The Role:
This position reports to the Senior Payroll Officer and Provides payroll administrative assistance and coordinates with the head office on all HR, Safety and Finance administrate requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Processes timesheets and forms, maintains salary variations on a fortnightly basis including all allowances, commencements, terminations, leave and other relevant information on the computerised database in current and accurate form, performing consolidations, balances, research, investigation and resolves issues identified through exception reports and payroll certification enquiries.
- Balances and reconciles fortnightly payroll output, including generation of monthly documentation and reports to the Finance Department.
- Interprets and advises on payroll related matters, awards, agreements, policies and procedures.
- Prepares reports and correspondence and undertakes other administrative tasks, related to the full range of day-to-day and cyclical personnel/payroll functions and running the end of year financial processes.
- Reviews employees’ entitlements (e.g. leave credits and accruals) ensuring that the information is correct on the system through a systematic audit process and working closely with IT to carry out testing for all Payroll system upgrades.
- Creating a good working relationship with Superannuation and Taxation providers and establishing effective communication with managers, employees and external visitors.
- Ensure new employee superannuation is effectively administered and NCSL and Nasfund Contribution is uploaded on timely manner.
- Ensure tax are calculated and in accordance with IRC legislatives to avoid legal implications and all allowance is taxed accurately as per IRC and Salary Sacrificing is correctly calculated as per IRC 40% policy.
- Attends to personnel and payroll enquires as necessary and maintaining confidentiality.
- Administering of Time & Attendance employee hours and making sure there is speed & accuracy in processing pay.
About You:
- 3-5 Minimum diploma level qualification in human resources, office administration or related.
- Experience and knowledgeable in payroll software. Attache BI would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills; possesses strong administrative prowess and can work in a team environment.
- Must have driven, passion and resilience to work in human resources environment and be a self-disciplined person.
- Must possess ability to always maintain confidentiality when relating to employee issues.
