This position is Port Moresby based and reports to the Sourcing & Procurement Manager.

The Role: 

  • Ensure all internal stakeholders adhere to the PFL procurement policy during procurement activities.
  • Supplier Engagement: Maintain regular communication with major suppliers to ensure a smooth supply of materials.
  • Supplier Evaluation and Monitoring: Lead the supplier evaluation and monitoring program to ensure performance and compliance.
  • Partnership with Material Planners: Work closely with material planners to ensure the efficient execution of all orders.
  • Oversee requisitions, tracking PO cancellations and amendments for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Timely Ordering: Ensure timely ordering and delivery of all stock materials to all PFL sites.
  • Order Monitoring: Review open orders weekly, update suppliers to maintain purchase order (PO) accuracy, and follow up as necessary.
  • Identify and source alternative suppliers for stock items.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration & engagements with all Stakeholders.
  • Internal Stakeholder Meetings: Regularly meet with Planning, R&D, Quality, and Production teams across sites to review and ensure materials meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Assist the Quality department in addressing supplier non-conformance issues and ensure adherence to required certifications.
  • Price Monitoring: Continuously monitor the pricing of materials to manage costs effectively.

About You:

  • Diploma/Bachelor in Business or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Procurement and or Supply Chain
  • Proficient in advanced skills in MS Office programs
  • Strong understanding of financial principles
  • Strategic thinker
  • Open-minded with excellent interpersonal abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Capable of working independently while supporting cross-functional teams
  • Skilled in analysing and integrating data from multiple sources
  • Driven, eager to learn, and committed to growth
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong understanding of financial principles
